Part of being an air cadet is taking part in activities and gaining badges and awards.  From joining air cadets you progress through different classifications, your first classification being first class cadet, then leading, then senior, then lastly when you are 15 years of age - Master air cadet.  Once you have received your Master Air Cadet you automatically pass a BTEC in aviation studies. Cadets also have the opportunity of gaining external awards such as The Duke Of Edinburgh award and BTEC's in music and team work and personal development skills.

In the past year cadets at 272 Wisbech squadron have gained the following qualifications:

Heartstart and Youth First Aid.

Blue Comms

Bronze Cyber

Trained shot

Bronze Duke Of Edinburgh

Blue and bronze aviation and glider wings.

Blue and bronze leadership.

Basic swimming level.
